Bamboo Carbon Development Suriname SPV
Sector: Sustainable Forestry / Carbon Development / Bio-Based Materials
Project Description
The Bamboo Carbon Development Suriname SPV concerns the structured development of large-scale Guadua angustifolia bamboo plantations combined with integrated carbon removal and sustainable biomass applications in Suriname.
The project is designed as a long-term sustainable land development platform combining bamboo cultivation, ARR carbon removal streams, biochar production, and future bio-based industrial applications. The development emphasizes environmental stewardship, scalable plantation management, and alignment with international carbon certification standards.
The operational framework integrates plantation development, carbon removal methodologies, biomass processing, and future downstream applications within a professionally structured and scalable operating model.
Strategic Context
Suriname forms part of the Guiana Shield, one of the most biodiverse and carbon-rich regions in the world, with over 90% forest coverage and increasing international relevance within carbon and sustainability markets.
Global demand for nature-based carbon removals, biochar carbon storage solutions, and sustainable raw materials continues to grow as companies and institutions seek long-term access to verified carbon removal streams and environmentally responsible supply chains.
The project aligns with these structural developments and positions itself within the expanding international market for carbon development and sustainable biomass solutions.
Project Size and Scope
Initial contracted plantation area: approximately 500 hectares.
Additional expansion area 500ha.
Development components include bamboo plantation operations, ARR carbon removal streams, biochar carbon storage production, and future bio-based material applications.
Development model: phased implementation allowing operational scaling and certification alignment.
Operational model: integrated plantation and carbon development structure with defined operational oversight and international certification pathways.
Structure
The project is incorporated in a dedicated SPV within the Suriname Investment Platform.
The SPV operates as a ring-fenced legal entity, ensuring governance clarity, asset separation, and structured participation. The framework supports collaboration with international carbon market participants, sustainability partners, and downstream biomass and carbon development operators.
Status
Open for qualified investor participation.
The initial forward carbon development structure is positioned at a maximum project scale of approximately USD 5 million for the first operational phases.
Further documentation, including technical outlines, certification pathways, and phased development structures, is available upon request following an introductory discussion and, where applicable, execution of a non-disclosure agreement.
